City of Dreams is an integrated development that is the first of its kind in Panipat, Haryana. Spanning over 320 acres, this residential haven in Panipat strikes a delicate balance between urban living and environmental sustainability. The township is located well away from the city’s congestion while offering connectivity.
The guiding objective of the project is to create a model for responsible development in India while respecting the environment. The primary challenge included creating a self-sustained, inclusive habitat transcending economic classes. City of Dreams tackles this challenge by seamlessly integrating open green spaces, social hubs, and infrastructure, creating a living space for not just a specific economic class but an amalgamation of all kinds of homeowners. It innovatively addresses the need for urban synergy while fostering a sense of community and inclusivity among its residents.
The township has a thoughtful layout that integrates necessary amenities and creates a balanced, self-sustained space for the residents. It is designed to prevent congestion and ensures a visually appealing environment. City of Dreams comprises different amenities such as a high school, shopping areas, offices, religious buildings and a massive clubhouse. The primary identity of the township is created by providing shopping areas on both sides of a 60m wide road, thus attracting an extensive range of users.
The cluster of buildings is designed for multiple configurations that can respond to changing social demands, and this, as a system, successfully fosters a close, immediate community. Staggered sub-streets and chicanes not only optimise traffic flow but also serve as charming green pockets. The cultural preferences of ‘Vastu’ were considered while designing the township. The plots are oriented east-west, so the houses receive sunlight and increased cross ventilation. To further encourage social interaction, each cluster has access to a pedestrian network which connects to important community areas.
Meanwhile, the landscape design strategically weaves green spaces and themed parks throughout the township, offering residents a profound connection with nature and encouraging an active lifestyle. These spaces run throughout the development, inspiring the spirit of family living in a reserved yet privileged neighbourhood. The green areas of the township have been detailed, considering the requirements of different age groups. There are play areas for toddlers close to their homes, children’s play areas, parks and exercise areas for youngsters and social and exercise zones for seniors.
In City of Dreams, every detail converges to create a responsible and inclusive development model. While blending environmental sustainability with urban living, this integrated township not only fosters a sense of community but also offers a harmonious lifestyle where every resident, regardless of economic class, finds a space to call home.
