Located within the Supreme Court of India, this refurbishment project reimagines the chamber of the Chief Justice, presenting a space that reflects the gravitas and integrity of one of the nation’s highest offices.
Efficient Zoning and Craftsmanship
The chamber comprises an office cabin, a lounge area, a breakout area with a dining setup, and a retiring room with an ensuite bathroom. The layout is carefully organised to cater to the varied requirements of this prestigious role, ensuring a balance between functionality and comfort.
The office cabin features a combination of high-gloss and matte finishes that bring a sense of quiet sophistication to the space. The furniture arrangement reflects a preference for order, resonating with the chamber’s formal purpose. Panelled walls with fine detailing, along with the inclusion of two Noctambule lights by Flos and embossed national symbols, lend a dignified and authoritative character to the office.
Honouring Heritage
The refurbishment was driven by an intent to respect the architectural character of the Supreme Court. This intent was realised through measures such as replacing the existing windows with high-performance alternatives designed to retain the original aesthetic, ensuring the elevation remains untouched while improving functionality. Modern systems, including an updated AV setup, have been carefully integrated to meet both current and future requirements.
A Space for Respite
The retiring room has been redesigned to incorporate a breakout area with a dining setup while maintaining its primary function. The use of minimalist design elements, comfortable upholstery, and ambient lighting creates a calming and private environment, offering moments of rest during demanding schedules.

This refurbishment reflects the stature of the Chief Justice’s role, delivering a workspace that is refined and enduring while respecting the heritage of one of India’s most venerated institutions.
